The next installment in this series will be a sweeping look at the experiences and impact of the Vietnam War on Wisconsin soldiers and civilians with Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories. The project won’t air on WPT until 2010, but work has already begun around the state to find veterans that will tell their stories. As a special Web exclusive, Be more Tuned In is proud to present an exclusive sneak preview of some of the show’s interviews. Willie Williams of De Forest and David Kies of Verona are just two of the many veterans who are sharing their memories of Vietnam for the latest in Wisconsin Public Television’s portrayal of war through firsthand accounts, Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories. Willie Williams served in the 25th Infantry Division in Cu Chi in 1966 and 1967, while David Kies served with the 173rd Airborne Division during the same period as the ten-year war was heating up.

Therefore, it is clear that there are many large model train stores throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan, three states that have stores in the top five. Michigan had the most with five of the top ten, but Minnesota has four – and also took the first place.

When in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and do not forget to visit some excellent museums including railroading Durand Union Station in Durand, Michigan, Michigan Transit Museum in Mount Clemens, Michigan End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum in Currie, Minnesota Gopher State Railroad Museum in Shakopee, Minnesota Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, Minnesota, Minnesota Transportation Museum in St. Paul, Minnesota; former Railway Museum depot in Dassel, Minnesota Twin City Model Railroad Museum in Saint Paul, Minnesota; East Troy Electric Railroad Museum East Troy, Wisconsin, Fennimore Railroad Historical Society Museum in Fennimore, Wisconsin, Mid-Continent Railway Historical Society in North Freedom, Wisconsin, the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
